About me

I have enjoyed photography for several years.  In the past I have had the pleasure of teaching junior and senior high school students.  I decided it was time to expand on that and teach others who just wanted to learn about their camera.

What got me started

I have read several books and searched the internet for how-tos, but I still struggled to put all the information to practical use, not that the books were bad - on the contrary, they were just not the best way for me to learn and have it 'stick'.  Only after I was able to discuss aperture, shutter speed, and other camera basics face-to-face with other people did I begin to fully understand the intricacies of achieving the best results.  I am eager to share the same experience with you!

Credentials

I have completed a Professional Photographers course at the New York Institute of Photography.  I enjoyed 2 years of experience with junior and senior high school students.

Workshops

Email for details

If you and 9 friends who wish to learn more about their camera.  I would do a group workshop.  I have props, lights and other things that we can experiment with.  Email me if you are interested and we can work out the details.

Field Trips?

I would love to meet everyone who is local face to face.  I am planning on hosting 'group sessions' about once a month, hopefully more.  Where we can meet, have fun, take pictures and discuss all the concepts we have learned about in the Basic DSLR Course.
